Our Services
Medical eye care, diagnostic technology and surgical co-management. Optometry is not only about glasses.
A large part of what we do has nothing to do with glasses. We find disease, we treat it, and we monitor it over years. Arizona optometrists are licensed to diagnose ocular conditions and prescribe the medications that treat them, and we refer to surgeons when surgery is what is needed.
The advantage of having that care here rather than only at a specialist practice is continuity and access. Glaucoma monitoring means pressure checks and visual fields several times a year. Cataract recovery means multiple follow-up visits over weeks. Having those close to home, with a practice that already knows your history, is a materially better arrangement than driving across the valley for each one.

Frequently asked questions
Can an optometrist prescribe medication?
Yes. Arizona optometrists diagnose eye disease and prescribe ocular medications including glaucoma drops, antibiotics and anti-inflammatories. Surgical conditions are referred to an ophthalmologist.
What does co-management mean?
It means the surgeon performs the operation and we handle the evaluation before and the care after. You get an experienced surgeon for the procedure and local follow-up during recovery, when driving across the valley is least convenient.
Do you perform LASIK or cataract surgery?
No. Those are performed by ophthalmic surgeons. We provide candidacy evaluation, referral, and pre and post-operative care. Any optometry practice claiming to perform these is describing co-management inaccurately.
